Just relesed off-beat "Vedam" movie is facing ire of people of a certain area. Heroine Anushka is shown as a prostitute named 'Amalapuram Saroja' in the movie. This the people of Amalapuram are not able to digest. They are protesting against tagging their town's name alongwith a prostitute's name. They are also critical about showing as only girls live in Amalapuram. In the movie, a girl from Amalapuram comes to Hyderabad because prostitution is more lucrative in Hyderabad. Because she belongs to Amalapuram, she is called as 'Amalapuram Saroja'. However, Amalapuram people say that their sentiments have been hurt very badly. |
