Gowtham Menon hasn’t started working on Ajith Kumar’s 50th film as the actor is now busy preparing for Formula 2 racing tournament, which starts on April 16 and ending by September.
Since, there’s a lot of time left for the shooting, Gowtham is now busy completing his untitled thriller with his manager Veera and Sameera Reddy playing the lead roles. Gowtham Menon’s untitled film is reported to be a thriller that centers on a young man’s encounter with a sex-worker during a night time, which results in unexpected twists and turns.The film doesn’t have any songs and the total duration of this film will be 90mins. The closer sources have confirmed that the film is not based on Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Chameli’ that had a similar plot but with a different treatment in screenplay.

South India’s bootylicious babe Hansika Motwani was the most wanted actress by various top-charting actors in Kollywood.
But the actress kept refusing the offers due to busy commitments in Telugu film industry. Now, the actress is all set to make her debut in Kollywood with ‘Dhanush starrer ‘Maappilai’.
The film has already started rolling and Hansika is herein Chennai shooting for her portions. As known to everyone, the film is a remake of yesteryear blockbuster with the same title starring Rajnikanth, Amala and Sri Vidhya in lead roles.
Now, Bollywood actress Manisha Koraila takes on the role of Dhanush’s mother-in-law and Hansika makes it clear that unlike yesteryear version, this remake film has equal importance to her characterization just as Dhanush and Sri Vidhya. Nayanthara is currently pairing with Arya in the film Boss Engira Bhaskaran and also in Telugu film with Balakrishna. She is also acting currently in an untitled Malayalam film.

“It was my dream to act with Kamal Haasan right from the day I entered film industry. I was on cloud nine when I was roped in for ‘Marmayogi’. But the joy didn’t last long as the film was stopped due to unavoidable reasons,” says Trisha.
“And I am on cloud nine again,” the actress says and adds: “Because, I am there in Kamal sir’s next film. I signed the film simply after hearing the story over the phone. How could I reject an offer to work with such a genius?”
Heaping laurels on the ‘Ulaga Nayagan’, she says, “He is one of the most intelligent persons I have ever met. He is a master of all subjects and knows anything and everything. You can discuss with him whatever you want.”
On her Hindi debut ‘Khatta Meetha’, directed by Priyadarshan with Akshay Kumar in the lead, Trisha says, “Most part of the shoot is over and a 15-day schedule alone is left. The film has come out well and it’s going to be a perfect launch for me in Bollywood. I enjoyed acting with Akshay Kumar”.

The ‘Ammadi Aathadi…’ duo is back. Perhaps encouraged by the reach of the ‘Vallavan’ song, Vijaya T Rajendar has once again crooned a number which has lyrics penned by Perarasu for the latter’s directorial venture ‘Thiruthani’.
The song ‘Yamma….Yamma….’ composed by Perarasu himself was recently recorded in Chennai and it was shot in and around Thenkasi on Bharath and Sunaina, the lead pair of the movie. Says Perarasu, “I am taking the avatar of a music composer in Thiruthani. All the songs have come out well with the one sung by Vijaya T Rajendar being the highlight. I admire TR a lot and follow his footsteps by donning many hats while making a movie.”
The filmmaker, who says his next film will be produced by himself, adds: “It will be a village based subject, which will be shot in Karaikudi and Usilampatti. I have a penchant for villages and one could have noticed it in my first two films- Thirupachi and Sivakasi.”
Narain, Poonam Bajwa, Sangeetha, Prabhu and Meena are starring in the film Thambikottai. Ammu Ramesh is directing this film. While speaking about this film, the director said,” There is a commotion in Thambikottai.
Narain has been stabbed in this incident. I had shot the scene where his sister Meena consoles him in the hospital. Sangeetha who is not living with her husband runs a separate dynasty who threatens. She is doing the role of a don. I had shot the fighting sequence with her fighting Narain. I had shot this sequence in a tube light gowdown in Chennai.
I had utilized 200 cars for this sequence. We had spent few lakhs for this sequence. The shooting has taken place for 65 days. There will be a lot of people as bridge for lovers. But in this film Narain and Poonam Bajwa who are lovers are responsible for building a bridge. The climax fighting sequence happens in this bridge. To shoot these scenes the ultra modern photo sonic 35 mm has been utilized. These scenes will be a new experience for the audience.”

Without affecting his other commitments, Vadivelu has allocated 175 days for this comedy caper, which will be shot all over the world, apt to its title. About 10 actresses will share the screen space with the comedian in this movie, it is said.

Kollywood Shuts Down For A Day
The most happening cinematographer P.N. Sundaram of Tamil film industry passed away yesterday (March 22) in Chennai. To mark his demise, the FEFSI association has decided to call off all the shooting today. Aged 86, Sundaram has cranked camera for some of the best classical hits of Tamil cinema including – Sivaji Ganeshan’s ‘Thangapadhakkam’, ‘Olivilakku’, ‘Uyarndha Ullam’….Apart from his spellbinding cinematography, he had directed some famous Malayalam films and even more laurels for it.P.N. Sundaram is survived his son Ambi and three daughters. His funeral rites will take place this evening at Besant Nagar.We as the members of Top10cinema express our condolences for this family members and close associates.
Disha Pandey is on a mission. Following his mentor Gautham Menon’s footsteps, he has chosen an urban milieu to narrate his story and has succeeded in recording it to a large extent. MDP is about the journey of a young man in pursuit of his soul mate and his emotions, mistakes and the numerous sensations associated with it. Sanjay (Sanjay) is a middle class city dweller living in an apartment complex and working as a software professional with many friends which includes both men and women. Like any man of his age, he wants to find Ms Right. Sanjay has a set of ideas for his life partner and tries to find them in the girls that he comes across. When he thinks he is in love with Pooja, his neighbor, she
jilts him for an NRI. When he is nursing his wounds, he comes across Aarthi (Ektha) but he is dissuaded by the malicious rumors about her and at the same time, gets attracted towards her. He joins her dance school and tries to get close to her despite realizing her characteristic traits don’t match his personal guidelines for a wife. Meanwhile, there is a new product manager Anu (Lizna) in his office who walks into his life. Who Sanjay chooses to walk with him in the journey of life and what makes him take this important decision forms the rest of MDP. While many of the Kollywood directors look to rural setting to record realism, here is Magilzh who has done that taking Chennai as his premise. He has chronicled urban realism perfectly. The life of employed youth in the city is portrayed with honesty. It is obvious that Magilzh has treaded on a tested path but all the same has tried to bring in a few pizzaz here and there. New comer Sanjay is natural, has understood his character and has essayed it well. He is every bit the boy you see next door. Sai Prashanth as Dinesh, friend of Sanjay is the perfect foil and overtakes everyone in his performance. His expressions and body language are impressive. Out of the three ladies, Ektha has more footage and delivers well. Sanjay and Ektha are good find indeed! Lizna is very cute and appealing. Pooja’s role is very minimal. It is refreshing to watch friends of the hero in the same age group.A touch of levity runs through most of the film which is enjoyable. The scene where Sanjay and Dinesh are left with no partner in a salsa dance, Dinesh trying to meet his internet girlfriend with a weird name Piston and the resultant event, Dinesh’s sister finding unused, expired condoms in his room emphasizing that he is one big bragger, Dinesh wishing his office mate at her wedding are a few examples. There are many such cute sequences. Light hearted humor seamlessly flows in the narration. An excellent support to MDP is its music. Thaman once again proves his mettle especially in Indre Indre and Manadin Adiyil number. Shades of Sillunu oru Kaadal are evident in Mundhinam Partheney number. Re-recording suits the tempo of the film. Cinematographer Vincent brings alive London, Italy and Venice in the song sequences. Lush locales are a good visual delight. However, the first half of the film unfolds slowly and it takes a while to warm up. The momentum picks up after the interval. A consistent and an engaging cohesive screen play would have made a positive difference to this light hearted venture. Sometimes, love seems to be more of an obsessive feeling for the hero in the film rather than a natural event. Nevertheless Magilzh Thirumeni should be lauded for eschewing mindless violence, gory bloodshed and other formulaic clichés in his debut venture. Verdict: A Pleasant, feel good outing!

Radhika’s Raadan pictures seem to be reaping gold in television. The company’s latest offing, the mega sitcom Chellamey, has successfully crossed 134 episodes in SUN TV. Raadan has announced in a recent press note that the sitcom will feature interesting twists going forward.
The sitcom has Radhika, Radha Ravi, Delhi Ganesh, Ravikumar, Sonia and Nithya playing prominent roles among others. It’s being telecast in the 9.30 slot in SUN TV from Monday through Friday.

Popular South Indian actress Sangitha, best known for her performances in Khadgam, Pithamagan, Uyir and Dhanam, is all set to debut in Tamil TV serials with a mystery thriller titled 'Amudhasurabhi' to be aired by Polymer TV.
Sources say the actress will do a cameo as Manimekalai in this serial to be directed by Naga, maker of many horror serials like 'Marma Desam' and 'Chidambara Ragisiyam',l appearring only in one episode.
Notably, this will not be the first time Sangitha is participating in TV shows. She was a judge on Vijay TV's hit show 'Jodi No. 1' and its two later editions 'Jodi No. 1 Season 2' and 'Jodi No. 1 Season 3'.
She was one of the three judges along with S.J. Suryaah and Sundaram in 'Jodi No. 1', Silambarasan and Sundaram in 'Jodi No. 1 Season 2' and Jeeva and Aishwarya Dhanush in 'Jodi No. 1 Season 3'.
Asin’s salary is Rs 2 Crores to act in the Tamil remake of Malayalam film Body Guard
Asin is back into Kollywood. The Malayalam film Body Guard is being remade in Tamil. Vijay is doing the lead role. Asin was under consideration for the heroine’s role and it seems that she has demanded Rs 2 Crores as her salary.
Now she is the highly paid actress in Tamil film industry. She made her debut in the Tamil film M Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi. After this she continued to act in many films including Varalaaru, Pokkiri, Ghajini and Azhwar.

Director Bala Srirangam while speaking about this film said, “This film Pen Singam will be the most unforgettable film in my life time, because I had got the opportunity to direct a film which is the creation of Kalaignar. He has given his whole effort and motivated me by giving total freedom to direct this film. We have spoken about women’s liberation very strongly in this film. This film has also the ingredients of a commercial film.”
Udhay Kiran is doing the lead role while Meera Jasmine dons the role of a police officer. Richard is in the role of a Tamil orator. Sudarsana Sen is pairing with him. Radha Ravi, Thalaivasal Vijay, Vivek, Riteesh, Ramba, Mohini and Vaagai Chandrasekaran are doing important roles.
This is the first that Deva is composing music for Kalaignar’s film. The song sequences with the lines Veenail Ezhuvathu Venu Ganama written by Kalaignar and the song with the line Nee Sonnal Thei Pirai written by Vairamuthu is being shot in European countries.

The maestro in a press meet said that he had offered the rights of his Tamil and Telugu film songs to Echo but the company failed to pay the royalty amount for about 30 years. The musician adds that this royalty amount should actually have been shared between the producers and him. Prior to lodging a police complaint, Ilaiyaraja had also discussed the issue with the Producers’ Council. He also alleged that Echo is in talks with another company to sell the rights of his Telugu films for about Rs. 25 crores. Ilaiyaraja says that the complaint comes in the wake of repeated request to company for the royalty and their indifferent attitude.
Vijay takes the risk in the mid sea
Sura is Vijay’s 50th film which is being presented by Sun Pictures. S P Rajkumar is directing this film. When we asked the director about this film, he said,” This film will be equivalent to 10 films that Vijay has so far acted.
There will be so many actions and sensations. Though the film has all the ingredients like action, romance, comedy and dance as in Vijay films, the basic root of this film is the screenplay. Every scene will make his fans applaud, because every scene including the climax will be new to the audience.
Vijay is donning the role of a fisherman who does not live for himself but for others. Thamanna who is a high class girl pairs with him. She is donning the role of a bubbly mischievous college girl. No one needs to know the pranks played by Vijay-Vadivelu combo.
In the similar way Vadivelu has out beaten his earlier comedies. All the songs composed by Mani Sharma has come out well. Vijay who takes risk in the action scenes in all his films has taken risk in this film by swimming half a mile in the sea.

Actress Priyamani who has been roped in by Ram Gopal Varma for his forthcoming film, Rakta Charitra shares her working experience with RGV for the film. Rakta Charitra has completed the first schedule of the film at Mumbai. The hot actress who was initially tensed working in RGV’s film says that she has changed her opinion later.
The actress says, “Working with RGV was a wonderful experience and he was easy to deal with on the sets. Although initially I was scared of working in the film, the first trip to Mumbai for the shooting changed all this perception.”
Well, we are not talking about any legal issues Cheran is facing. But the actor-director is these days a regular visitor to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) office in Chennai thanks to one of his professional commitments, we hear.
Cheran, who is playing the role of a CBI officer in a film directed by Mysskin (which is supposedly a sequel to 'Anjathey'), is visiting the CBI office to study the workstyle there, reports say.
"Since he wants to give a realistic touch to the role, he is observing the working pattern of CBI officers without affecting their routine. This, he thinks, would go a long way while performing in front of camera," it is said.

Dia Mirza, who will be next seen in `Hum Tum Aur Ghost`, is mighty pleased that friend and co-star Arshad Warsi kept his word on casting her in the female lead in his upcoming home production.
"I was content with guest appearances and was convinced that such roles would come my way, if not whole some characters. But when Arshad and Maria offered me the lead role in their upcoming home production `Hum Tum Aur Ghost` I was overwhelmed...I could not believe.. he kept his word," Dia told reporters here.
"When we finished working with `Lage Raho Munnabhai`, Arshad told me even though my role was little, I did a fantastic job and that he would surely love to cast me in his home production. I thought he just said it and will forget it," Dia said.
Arshad told me he thought I have not been given my due and that he loved my work, she said.
The vivacious diva has done guest appearances in films including `Shootout at Lokhandwala`, `Lage Raho Munna Bhai`, `Om Shanti Om`, `Heyy Babyy` (special appearance), `Kurbaan` and `Luck By Chance`.
The film, which also stars Boman Irani and Sandhya Mridul in significant roles, releases on March 26 and is directed by Kabeer Kaushik.

‘Unnai Naan Ariven’, a movie that is being directed byVijaykanna and being produced by Sri Aadhikali Amman Films of G Paneerselvam is in its final stage of completion.

The story of the film revolves around three youngsters who trust that money is not important but achieving their aim is very important. John Peter has composed the music for the film and camara part has been handled by K G Sreenivasan.

This film is being directed by the popular producer A M Rathnam’s son A M Ramakrishna who had directed Ennaku 20 Unakku 18 and Kedi. A M Ramakrishna apart from doing the lead role has written the screenplay and also directing this film. This film is based on the relationship between the boys and girls.
Whether they remain friends till the end or turn out to be lovers forms the theme of this film. There are 21 heroines in this film. Preethi Bhandari is the main heroine.
The other 20 heroes are also acting with Ramakrishna. Each one has an important role to play in this film. Ramakrishna says that he is planning to release this film in the month of May.

The title for Ajith’s 50th film seems to be the hot topic among his fans. There were reports that the film is to be titled Thuppariyum Anand, but Gautham Menon denied it. Gautham had said that it is true that he has a script titled Thuppariyum Anand but Ajith’s project is different.
There are reports that Gautham is considering to name the Ajith-starrer as Kakhi or Police. But both these titles have already been registered. Police, sources say, has been registered by noted actor and producer Thyagarajan.
There are also reports that Gautham is contemplating on the title Kaaval.

Ajith’s 50th film is gearing up for a kind of launch never seen before in Tamil industry. The grand function is being planned in Madurai, the stronghold of Alagiri. Gautham will start the film in June immediately after he completes his underproduction low budget thriller starring his associate Veera and Sameera Reddy.
Dhayanidhi Alagiri who produces Ajith’s 50th film has sounded a grand function at the famous Thamukam Grounds in Madurai. Elaborate plans are being made to have Union Minister and the father of Dhayanidhi Mu. Ka. Alagiri and the Super Star Rajinikanth on the stage together as chief guests.
Gautham Menon is planning to convert Ajith as the new James Bond of south cinema. At the same time he has given full freedom to Ajith to decide on how he wants to look in the film. Ajith’s terrific macho appearance in ‘Asal’ is still fresh in the minds of the people.

Thamanna dons the role of a bubbly college girl and is the love interest of Vijay. It is guaranteed that Vijay will be rocking in the dance sequences. There are racy stunt scenes where Vijay fights with four villains which will bring you to the edge of your seat. The Telugu Magadheera villain poses a big challenge for Vijay in Sura. There are strong dialogues in this film which might provoke the politicians. Because of this these dialogues are being reshot. There will be no dearth for sensations.
OK. Now what is the story of Sura. Vijay like the MGR in Padagotti gets friendly with fishermen folks and begins his game. He is like a God to the fishing hamlets. He is fondly called Sura. When all are happy comes a silent tsunami in the form of smuggler big wig like Velu Naiker in Nayagan. He plans to curb the fishing hamlet lands in order to run his business smoothly. He tries to cheat the poor fishermen folk by saying that a big factory is going to come up in that area and promises to give lands in compensation. The news goes to Sura that these poor fishermen have been cheated. Now Vijay starts the hunting and the fisherman gets their justice, peace and happiness.
Since most of the story is happening in the sea, the shooting of the film took place in Pondicherry, Kerala and Thoothukudi. Nan Pura Illaada Sura ( I am not a dove but I am a shark) is the punch dialogue of Vijay in this film. Most of the stunt scenes have been shot in mid sea and in spite of his sea sickness, Vijay has excelled in the stunts scenes. As usual Vaali has penned the lyrics for the opening song and Kabilan has written a lyric which depicts Vijay’s personality and his ideals.
On the whole this film will be definitely a commercial entertainer.

The duo combo Hari-Surya has already churned out some successful films ‘Aaru’ and ‘Vel’. Now, they are back in showbiz with yet another action-packed commercial entertainer titled ‘Singam’. Followed by his overpowering performance in ‘Kaaka Kaaka’, Surya performs the role of a cop with Anushka starring opposite him in female lead.
Here, we a hint for you to take a look over visuals. Almost all the frames have been slanted towards the side of Anushka to project Surya taller than her. According to the sources in shooting spots, Surya would actually wear high heels prior to Anushka’s arrival so as to look naturally taller.
Apart from Prakash Raj and Vivek, actors Manorama, Radha Ravi, Nasser, Sumithra, Janaki Subash, Yuvarani, Delhi Kumar, Nizhalgal Ravi, Adhitya, Ajay Rathnam, Besant Ravi, Crane Manohar, Bose Venkat, Nanda Saravanan, Manobala, Paandu, Thyagu and others have performed prominent roles.
This is a very special film for Surya as it’s his 25th flick in career and is produced by his uncle Gnyanavel Rajan. It’s worth mentioning that it’s Hari’s 10th film with almost all his films happening to be a success in box office.
But it’s really makes us wonder how come Devi Sri Prasad has been roped for scoring music. He has been loosing out more offers in Tamil and Telugu film industry due to his inconsistency to deliver good music. V.T. Vijayan handles editing with Priyan cranking the camera and K. Kathir is the art director.
The film’s shooting commenced in Chennai and had the following schedules in Nellai, Kuttralam, Thenkasi, Amba Samuthiram, Tuticorin, Thiruchendur, Karaikudi and other surrounding places. Apart from these locales, couple of songs choreographed by Brindha was shot in Dubai.
The film’s audio is reported to be launched by this month and film will hit screens by April. It’s confirmed news that Sun Pictures has acquired the rights over ‘Singam’, which is a good news for the entire team and especially producers.
